Kailash Parbat, Al Seef - A stylish restaurant offering great Indian food

Located on the southern side of Dubai Creek, the 40 restaurants and shops that make up Al Seef is the latest creation of property developer, Meraas. Steeped in history with a large amount of Emirati culture, Meraas has daringly blended a modern and distinctive shipping container-style design and concept along this 1.8km stretch of prime real-estate waterfront.

One of the newest Indian restaurants to open is Kailash Parbat. Serving Indian vegetarian cuisine, the spilt-level property managed by KP Hospitality maximises its appeal with an open kitchen dining concept for families downstairs, while a bar entices patrons of a different persuasion with a live house band and DJ. Our visit I visited KP recently with food blogger Suren Rajamohan and we had a great time.

Kailash Parbat is separated across two levels. The ground floor has the restaurant and the 1st level has the bar and shisha lounge. We chose to sit at the restaurant area and enjoy the food before heading upstairs to try some of their peppy cocktails and shisha.

In drinks we had Cola float and king of all time. Both were very innovative takes and we enjoyed both of them. We later on also tried their frozen delights namely blush on ice and Virgin diaquiri frozen. In appetizers we had the famous indian pani puri. The fun was in having it dipped right from the flavoured pani at the counters. It is usually served at the table but we chose to have it this way just for the authentic feel of enjoying this age old street food favourite. It was decent. In main course we had Paneer Lababdar,, naan, roti, Dal pachvatti tadka, Soya biryani and also enjoyed Chole bature which is a complete meal in itself.

The taste of the dishes were very authentic and the quantity was quite good for two people to share. In desserts we had the famous indian Jalebi and rabdi which was tad too sweet to my liking but those who enjoy sweets especially will find this dish really very good.

Over all a great experience and the prices are very reasonable for a restaurant of this level so definitely a must go.
