Malabari Cuisine at its best at Skillet Restaurant, Deira Dubai

If you're a fan of #Malabari Cuisine then there's a nice new restaurant in Deira (Al Wasl District,near fish roundabout) serving very authentic North #Kerala cuisine. Their menu also includes few North Indian and Chinese dishes and they are good at it.

The place is run by a young Indian couple who are passionate about the food business.



They have everything from Zafran Chai to South Indian breakfast, Pancake, Nutella Crepe, to more traditional Porridge and Tapioca, Pothichor, Banana leaf meals. Their seafood and meat selection have decent, if not extensive options. They have a nice selection of Chinese dishes too like Schezuan Chicken Noodles, Hakka Noodles and Chicken Nazi Goreng Rice (which is originally Indonesian) but classified under Chinese dishes on the menu :)) 


What we ate :

We had Haryali Tikka, Chicken Lolipop, in starters. In mains we tried Ghee Rice with Buffalo Meat and Thalaserry Dum Biryani. In veg - Paneer Tikka Masala and Veg Tawa Fry with #Kerala Paratha.

While at it, we steadily sipped a tender mango drink (Kulukki Sharbath) topped with green chilli, that added on to the spice factor. 
The flavours were spot on and came through well in all the dishes. We ended it with #Falooda in dessert 
Pricing is quite moderate. A place I'll recommend for those who seek "Cheap and Best". The restaurants tagline rightly puts it - "DELICIOUS THAN YOU EXPERIENCED AFFORDABLE THAN YOU EXPECTED"


Service is quick and pleasant as it is over seen by the friendly lady owner, who is present in the restaurant at all times.

They are located in a relatively new development Al Wasl District and have free basement car parking so no parking issues.


@skilletdubai has an iftar menu with regional keralean specialties at only AED 20.

Zou Zou at La Mer, Dubai

After my recent visit to Gunaydin – which in my opinion is the best Turkish restaurant in Dubai, my expectations from any Turkish restaurants have risen to all time high. When I got invited from Zou Zou – the Turkish Lebanese restaurant at La Mer, I was all in for it, to try and compare. I visited Zou Zou last week with a very dear friend who is also a big foodie like me and a lover of all things Turkish. So needless to say, we went there with lots of expectations and a hungry tummy of course. I must mention that Zou Zou didn’t disappoint. First off I have to remark about the service. It was pleasant, warm and quick.
