Traders Hotel's Afyä Serves Italian-Themed Dinner On Wednesdays

The all-day dining restaurant at Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi hosts an Italian theme night called Mamma Mia every Wednesday.

Afyä, the all-day dining restaurant at Traders Hotel Qaryat Al Beri Abu Dhabi, invites fans of Italian cuisine to try out the newly revamped Mamma Mia dinner concept. Hosted every Wednesday from 7pm until 11pm, the Mamma Mia dinner celebrates Italian gastronomy in the casual chic setting of Afyä with a wide selection of dishes from different regions of Italy.

Executive sous chef Shammi de Costa said: “Italian food is always a favourite and considered a guilty pleasure for most.  The Mamma Mia dinner was launched to show how our kitchen is respectful of the simplicity in Italian cooking styles.  We now focus on the use of the freshest ingredients and incorporate local produce where possible.”

The Mamma Mia dinner features different stations for stone oven-baked pizzas, homemade pastas, appetisers and desserts.  The buffet also features a selection of artisan breads, which goes well with the fregula soup with clams.
In the cold foods section, guests can find light starters like sea bream salsa verde, beef bacon wrapped radicchio, and chicken liver crostini.

The wide selection of mains take centre stage at the lavish dinner featuring delicacies like eggplant Parmigiano, gnocchi, prawns wrapped in crispy pasta and beef lasagna.  The braised leg of lamb, choice of Italian sausages and the 1-metre pizza are popular choices of Afyä diners that remain on the Mamma Mia menu.

“A signature dish that we insist that our guests must try is the 48-hour braised beef cheek prepared in the butcher style.  Another favourite on the menu is the Devil Chicken known for its spiciness,” Shammi said.
The grills station offers a selection of seafood dishes like grilled squid and Sicilian tiger prawns, while the live station puts on a show for every homemade pasta that they cook in front of the guests – sometimes on a Parmesan wheel.

To finish the meal in a true Italian way, the Afyä kitchen leaves its guests spoilt for choice.  From a variety of gelatos to traditional favourites like tiramisu, pannacotta and cannoli, they have got it all. “We have introduced the ricotta cheese cake, stuffed peaches and panettone to give Afyä’s diners the real taste of Italy,” Shammi said.
The Mamma Mia dinner is priced at AED 130+++ per person (soft beverages) and AED 230+++ per person (selected hops and grapes). The urban-chic Afyä restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, showcasing flavours from all over the world in a modern setting.  Its open kitchen, which stretches nearly the entire length of the venue, gives the space a bright and lively ambience.
