Famous Dave's has been America's favorite place for BBQ and since opening in the UAE, it has become a favourite place for many BBQ lovers in this country too. Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit the latest outlet of Famous Dave's in the newest malls of Dubai  The festival plaza in Jebel Ali. I visited with a fellow blogger who is a connoisseur in meat and grills.  We were greeted by staff who were not only friendly but also very well trained and courteous. Uriel the outlet manager had been quite helpful and I must first being by thanking this wonderful gentleman for making our weekend complete. I recently had an opportunity to visit Back to Grills with blogger Suren Rajamohan and I am thankful to him for introducing me to a wonderful place where food, love and awesomeness in service go hand in hand. We were greeted by the Executive Chef and partner Anish who steps out of kitchen whenever he can to mingle and interact with the guests.   We were offered Banana Berry and Mango passion smoothie - two extremely delightful drinks that helped us cool down on a sultry Friday afternoon.   The taste was just right and this considering the fact that all their smoothies are natural and no sugar is added at all. Desi Junction is a very new restaurant located in Karama, Dubai.  Firstly Kudos for their courage in opening a restaurant at a time when others are shutting doors. So this itself says something. Yes, their courage to open at this covidious times shows that they are very confident about what they are doing. And it shows. The other day, I had an opportunity to order and try out various dishes from this new restaurant and was I impressed! The popular healthy and nutritionally balanced kebab chain German Doner Kebab has been my favourite for a long time now. I recently got a chance to visit their Dafza outlet. Doner Kebab I started off with the classic Doner Kebab which is also the signature item on their menu. A lot has changed from the time I last tried it at their Motor City outlet. The bread has gotten more firmer and better.  Last time, I'd had to deal with issues of the Doner overflowing with salad and sauce and dripping on my hands. The light doner bread was great but it just couldn't hold it all well together.  This time around it managed to strike the right note with the perfect hit of firm   doughiness and crunch that I would have expected from my kebab doner. The doner was nevertheless stuffed in the usual way, but this time around, it was more manageable - thanks to the stiff bread. I was able to press it all down together into palatable shape, without necessarily crumbling the bread. ...

I visited Bleu Blanc at the Renaissance Downtown hotel for the first time yesterday for a masterclass hosted by the Interfel fruits and vegetables association from France. First off the restaurant is very very pretty. One wouldn't expect to see so much of a classic and authentic touch in Dubai. The restaurant is beautiful both on the outside and inside. Situated on the second level with an separate access lift to its precincts, the restaurant boasts of a gorgeous interior with touches of both modern as well as traditional decor. The traditional chandeliers are in start contrast of modern bulbs hanging form the ceiling. Then there are mirrors all over the place which accentuate the traditional feel. The arrangement of furniture/ seating is very pretty and the service has been amazing. The restaurant also has very gorgeous views of the Dubai skyline and business bay canal. I was recently invited by Gypsy Chinese restaurant to visit for a review. I chose to visit the restaurant on a weekday for dinner. I was well received by the head waiter Chandrakant a GC veteran who has worked with the brand for the past eight years and was part of the restaurants first UAE team. He has also served in the parent restaurant in Mumbai. Gypsy Chinese I was told is quite popular in Mumbai among lovers of Chinese Food and is even visited by celebrities from Bollywood and other walks of life. After eight years of functioning out of Grand exelcior hotel in Mankhool, Gypsy Chinese very recently opened in karama to capitalize on the huge expat indian population in the locality. They also have a branch in Dubai marina and an outlet in Dalma Mall abu dhabi. The ambiance is quite well laid out for a small restaurant and they have tried to make the best use of the space.
