Famous Dave's melt in your mouth ribs
Famous Dave's has been America's favorite place for BBQ and since opening in the UAE, it has become a favourite place for many BBQ lovers in this country too.
Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit the latest outlet of Famous Dave's in the newest malls of Dubai The festival plaza in Jebel Ali. I visited with a fellow blogger who is a connoisseur in meat and grills.
We were greeted by staff who were not only friendly but also very well trained and courteous. Uriel the outlet manager had been quite helpful and I must first being by thanking this wonderful gentleman for making our weekend complete. He not only took care of us well but also ensured that we had a good understanding of the food culture of Famous Dave's and also gave us a tour of the kitchen and enlightened us on their various cooking techniques and what goes into making of the world famous melt-in-the-mouth ribs at Famous Dave's.
We started off our dining indulgence with a glass of Passion Fruit Margherita and Arnold Palmer each. Both the drinks were very refreshing, especially the passion fruit margerita. At only 24 and 15 respectively the portions were american size and was generous enough to last throughout our meal. I would highly recommend the passion fruit mojito for mojito lovers.
Then in appetizers we had Spicy Burnt Ends and buffalo wings. Both were remarkable in taste and quality. Burnt ends were nothing but brisket cubes cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth level of softness that impressed. Bufallo wings were quite soft too and different from ones we've eaten before. It came with onion rings - not your usual kind but shreds of it covering the wings to give it that twist.
We had a pail of Shack shrimps which also came with something that were like onion rings.
Now coming to the main highlight - the ribs. We had short ribs, 4 oz brisket, and an extra bone back rib. I must mentioned here that it was one of the finest in ribs I have ever tasted in this country. Till date had been a big fan of Tony Roma's ribs but ever since i tried this brand, i dont think i can try anything else. What makes Famous Dave's ribs so good? They hand rub each slab with spices, then slow smoke'm up for 12 hours. Thats why these juicy melt-in-your-mouth smoked Ribs from Famous Dave's are fall-off-the-bone delicious! The main highlight apart from the ribs were the smokin ribeye steak - a 12 oz oaksmoked rib eye. Truly remarkable again in taste and quality. No wonder they are known famously in America and elsewhere as the house of steaks.
The video below would show how slide off the bones these ribs were.
Finally in desserts we had a pecan pie slice. I would rather prefer my desserts this way - guiltless - with nuts and less sugar but tasty nevertheless.
