Nurai Cafe, Business Bay - Review

Image
NURAI is a Mediterranean restaurant with its name derived from the Turkish language that means “the white moon”. Situated at the ground level of the Wharf Tower in Business Bay, facing the Burj Khalifa, Nurai is a trendy and stylish resto café set along the gorgeous Dubai Water Canal in Business Bay. With its stunning view, this relaxing and lush space represents the essence of seamless connection of its Mediterranean theme. The trendy design, we learnt - is inspired by the magnificent setting of the full white moon in a dark forest. A solitary ceiling design and full height wooden illuminated wall cladding creates a focal point, while the blend of light and fine details of the space generates an extraordinary experience. Nurai’s design elements are designed not only for its function, but also for its distinct sophistication. Menu Nurai offers a fine array of traditional and modern Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes, cocktails and shishas. Separated over two levels and a s

Inspired by California and a healthy way of life

In no mood to venture out in the sweltering heat, we decided to order pizza from home. We went for Z Pizza – a Californian pizza brand with branches in Barsha and Business Bay.   Our location was far from their delivery jurisdiction, nevertheless the Business Bay outlet was kind enough to take our orders for delivery. We ordered the usual garlic bread, baked potato wedges, California salad and Zwings. In mains we ordered California Veggie and Chicken Tikka. The garlic bread came hot and fresh like the other items. It had a light hint of garlic. We would have preferred if they were slightly crispier as we got so used to the crispy version at Pizza Hut. Other than that aspect, it was perfect. Potato wedges were good and salad fresh. The dressing for the salad was sent separately. The Zwings had a nice smoky flavor, thanks to the hot sauce.  The California Veggie was probably the best choice and it came embellished with organic tomato sauce, par

A BBQ Connoisseurs perfect retreat

Me and my dining companion decided to celebrate friendship day with some smokey meat courtesy Blacksmith. We indeed had a lovely time there. First thing I have to note is the service. It was very pleasant and consistent throughout our visit.  Commendable job by waitresses Jacqueline and lily over there, particularly Jacqueline.   We decided to keep away from alcohol but instead indulge in their very minimal but careful selection of juice and mocktails. We started off with Cucumber mojito and Mango Strawberry Hawaiian. The cucumber was remarkable and my dining partner who ordered the Hawaiian shared similar sentiments. In starters we had their signature Smoked chili rubbed wings with ranch sauce. It was literally what the menu promised-  smokey, sticky, sweet spicy mild and savoury - all you would want from a wing.  We also tried Armadillo eggs - big bite size fresh ground beef nice and crispy on the outside thanks to the sweet ancho chili rub dusted on it and
