Bleu Blanc By David Myers

I visited Bleu Blanc at the Renaissance Downtown hotel for the first time yesterday for a masterclass hosted by the Interfel fruits and vegetables association from France. First off the restaurant is very very pretty. One wouldn't expect to see so much of a classic and authentic touch in Dubai. The restaurant is beautiful both on the outside and inside. Situated on the second level with an separate access lift to its precincts, the restaurant boasts of a gorgeous interior with touches of both modern as well as traditional decor. The traditional chandeliers are in start contrast of modern bulbs hanging form the ceiling. Then there are mirrors all over the place which accentuate the traditional feel. The arrangement of furniture/ seating is very pretty and the service has been amazing. The restaurant also has very gorgeous views of the Dubai skyline and business bay canal. In terms of food and service, the dishes prepared on the day of the event was by a popular chef from Paris

Gypsy Chinese - Indianized Chinese Restaurant in Al Karama

I was recently invited by Gypsy Chinese restaurant to visit for a review. I chose to visit the restaurant on a weekday for dinner. I was well received by the head waiter Chandrakant a GC veteran who has worked with the brand for the past eight years and was part of the restaurants first UAE team. He has also served in the parent restaurant in Mumbai. Gypsy Chinese I was told is quite popular in Mumbai among lovers of Chinese Food and is even visited by celebrities from Bollywood and other walks of life. After eight years of functioning out of Grand exelcior hotel in Mankhool, Gypsy Chinese very recently opened in karama to capitalize on the huge expat indian population in the locality. They also have a branch in Dubai marina and an outlet in Dalma Mall abu dhabi. The ambiance is quite well laid out for a small restaurant and they have tried to make the best use of the space. I was recently invited by blogger Elizabeth of Lizbethology to visit Cafe Frei for a review. We had an opportunity to taste some of the finest in coffee from around the world. True to its philosophy Cafe free offers an opportunity for guests for “Tasting the World” through their extraordinary product line. I learnt from waitress Rachel that their coffee drinks are always made from freshly roasted Arabica plantation coffee curiosities sorted by hand. Cafe frei is a global brand that offers more than 70 different coffee recipes from the major coffee “kitchens” of the world. Last week I had an invite from Bistro Domino for a review. I had visited with a friend and we had an opportunity to try out some of their specialty dishes on offer. The stylish French "Bistro Domino" restaurant offers an alfresco dining terrace and a selection of international favorites in an exciting contemporary setting. The ideal place to grab a quick snack, have a delicious lunch or dinner, and catch up with friends. We were served by Waiter Bhargava and Waitress Vivian who took great care of us. Though the preparation time was bit more than we expected, when the food arrived, it completely bowled us over. For the starters we ordered their two most ordered salads - the Village Greek Salad and Mediterranean Rocca salad.  The quantity was good enough for not two but three to share.
