Brazilian Sushi at Sushi Nations Mirdif. Perfect marriage between Japanese style and Brazilian treatment
Ever tried Brazilian Sushi or atleast heard of it? Here's a little backstory of brazilian sushi and how it came into being, while you thought Sushi was a very Japanese thing.
Japanese cuisine has existed in São Paulo since the beginning of the 20th century, when Japanese workers began immigrating to Brazil to work on coffee farms. Japanese Brazilians adapted their native cuisine to incorporate a type of fast food sushi restaurant called a temakeria that is unique to Brazil. Brazilians eat a lot of fish– especially in the north and coastal areas — and they eat a lot of sushi. Brazilian sushi is a fusion thing, which brings together the raw fresh fish we all love with typical Brazilian tastes.
The best place to try Japanese sushi in Dubai is Sushi Nations, founded by Chadi Nasser, the brand has made waves ever since its first launch and has grown to close to a dozen branches in just the course of a year or two.
We recently enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Sushi Nations Uptown mall. The event was the relaunch of their outlet, which had remained closed ever since covid struck the world and malls were forced to close due to lockdown. Now that lockdown as eased they are open again and serving their ever famous and tantalizing sushi .
We were lucky enough to try their sushi boat which contained at least over a 100 pieces of sushi and a lot of varieties of the best of sushi and sachimi. Chadi Nasser ensured we invited guests had a great time. He personally hand laid the sushi boat on our tables and everyone gasped on seeing such a brilliant presentation. Many were over awed at the sheer site of the boat being brought to the table with full of a gazillion varieties of sushi.
About the taste, dont even ask. it was remarkable. My favourite was the Crab sushi which had a very distinct taste. The beauty of brazilian sushi is that the sushi is cooked unlike Japanese sushi where only the rice is cooked and the fish and every thing else is raw.
Sushi nations has some fabulous offers running all the time including a bottomless buffet for only aed 69. If you have a thing for Sushi, do try sushi nations. You will not be disappointed.
