FOOD. EARTH. LOVE : That's the some total of FEL restaurant in Duja Towers, Dubai

This summer there is a cool new venue called FEL Restaurant that has opened in Duja Tower on Trade Centre Road in Dubai.

A Californian restaurant with a globally inspired cuisine with culinary influences coming from as far as Peru in the west and Japan on the east, FEL, strives to create a beautiful melange of tastes to tantalize the palettes of the ardent foodie. 

They feature a very simple and straightforward menu with select items, but the culinary artists at FEL try to create masterpieces of every single dish served there. They have Vegetarian, Vegan and healthy dining options.

We started off with Watermelon Aqua Fresca and ice Spanish late to beat the heat. Truffle scrambled egg in the breakfast menu sounded intriguing so we ordered that for the starters. My dining companion went for omelette Mexicali. Both amazing dishes and a great breakfast to have any day. I like that FEL serves an all day breakfast menu and for someone like me who loves having light dishes any part of the day, this is a great option.

For starters we had Socale Ceviche which was crunchy, fresh and tantalizing. Burrata rainbow salad was reasonably good but it could have been better. It was presented quite well and had some crunchy elements to it, which was different from anything I tried before. Overall the burrata in itself could have been better.

In the mains we had Baja style fish and spiced chicken bowl.  Baja style fish was moist and juicy and my dining partner totally enjoyed her dish. I found the chicken bowl quite nice too. It was very filling. Overall decent dishes in the main course immaculately and artistically presented.\

In desserts we tried DXB / LA chocolate crema. It was decorated like a UAE flag. It tasted good.
The restaurant itself is a very casual and pretty place, very well maintained with minimalism in decor and seating. The main star seems to be the food on the plate and the creativity of the chefs.

Zou Zou at La Mer, Dubai

After my recent visit to Gunaydin – which in my opinion is the best Turkish restaurant in Dubai, my expectations from any Turkish restaurants have risen to all time high. When I got invited from Zou Zou – the Turkish Lebanese restaurant at La Mer, I was all in for it, to try and compare. I visited Zou Zou last week with a very dear friend who is also a big foodie like me and a lover of all things Turkish. So needless to say, we went there with lots of expectations and a hungry tummy of course. I must mention that Zou Zou didn’t disappoint. First off I have to remark about the service.
