Cafe Bazza : Authentic Kuwaiti Cuisine in Dubai
In 2011, a new cafe by the name of Bazza opened up in Kuwait. Serving traditional Kuwaiti food in a modernised yet time-honoured setting, the café soon grew and now serves the freshest, most seasonal Kuwaiti fare in the UAE.
In Dubai the restaurant is located at City Walk and features some of the best in Kuwaiti Cuisine. While Kuwaiti cuisine may not be that significantly popular in Dubai judging from the only handful of Authentic Kuwaiti restaurants in existence, there are fans of Kuwaiti cuisine in the UAE and Cafe Bazza is here to cater to not only Kuwait's that prefer their homestyle food in Dubai but also to all others who would love to see what the country's culinary offerings are!
The team were very good and despite their restaurant manager being not available at the venue, they took very good care of us. Waiters Bilal and Sofiane were a very friendly bunch who went over and beyond their roles to ensure we had a good time.
We started off with some healthy fresh juices and went on to try some of their cold mezze including hammous and mouthabal. The mezze were okay. I had lemon mint with salt but it had a tint of cucumbery flavour which I did not like.
In appetizers we had chicken liver fry and chicken wings. Both were extremely good to eat and packed with flavor and taste. We also tried their very popular dish called Chicken grandmothers style which looked surprisingly more like italian lasagna and tasted heavenly. For a cheese lover there can't be a better treat. It was rich with cream, mushroom cheese, chicken and mashed potatoes. We loved it. 5/5 for the dish.
In the main course we had a big family platter of Walima chicken and lamb and Walima prawns. The rice was so soft, fluffy and delicious and the lamb and chicken were perfect melt in the mouth.
After a very sumptuous meal I decided to skip dessert and dinner. It was very filling yet at the same time didn't feel too heavy.
Cafe Bazza is a fab place to enjoy authentic kuwaiti cuisine at a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended.
