REVIEW: Hitchki At The Grand Millennium Hotel

HITCHKI (the Hindi word for “Hiccup”) is a brand built on the essence of nostalgia and this internationally aspirational brand focuses on regional cuisine and introduces elements of nostalgia to the dining experience.

The economically priced menu incorporates regional and traditional flavors from across India and offers classic favorites with a modern twist. Each dish has a quirky touch in a manner that suits the palate and lifestyle of the current day, by way of contemporary preparation and plating.

Hitchki seamlessly transforms itself from day to night, defined by international skill & service it is sure to transverse you back in time to the ‘days of joy.’

I visited Hitchki with my friend Suren Rajamohan who is a cricket fanatic so with the live India - Afghanistan match on at their full screen, we both had a great time. We were met by the friendly operations manager Vaidhyanathan Reddiar who ensured that from the time we entered to the time we stepped out, we were very well taken care off.

We started off with some heady cocktails and juices including but not limited to those with quirky names like Sweety Tweety, drunken nimbu soda, passion fruit iced tea, etc.

In starters were were served with tantalizing Chicken Khurana which is their best seller and Prawns Jaye par. Both teased the palates like nothing before and made us long for the next course.

In the mains I ordered Parda Biryani - A khandani recipe Awadhi biryani of mutton garnished with rich cashew nuts, munakka, and sided with Bhurani raita. The biryani was so yummy and well cooked with all the right spices  in the right levels making it such a pleasure to enjoy for a die hard biryani lover like me.

My friend ordered Galti Se Mis Steak - a Surf and Turf with Head on Shrimp, Rib eye steak, roasted yam, zucchini pappardelle and raspberry juice.

We finished off with Baratiyo ka swagat and Banofee bom in desserts. The desserts were really very sweet so not much to my liking however for a sweet lover, it is just a perfect treat.

Some of the other dishes on their menu included ones wiih quirky names like Bas Kar Pagle Rulayega Kya, Ulta Punjab, Aamrish Puri, Skewer Ke Bacchon, Tumse Na Ho Payega & many more to take us down the memory lane, hold a place in the menu. Hitchki serves never seen before drinks each with its own unique spin; from the Boondi Mojito to the Swadeeka, I hate Tears to Bhatt Saab ki Chai,

Hitchki offers a wide range of drinks at pocket friendly prices.     Desserts and Dessert cocktails such as Bas Kar Pagle Rulayega Kya, Tareekh Pe Tareekh, Chocolate Lava Kulfi, Balam Pichkari - Rasgulla Shots, and Bubble Gum shots, sets the bar on a sweet high.

This place is an ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT.

Hitchki ticks all the right boxes in terms of taste, innovation, quality of service, value.  So a full 5 on zomato for this restaurant from blogliterati.co
