Turkish Steak Restaurant – A new ‘must try’ steakhouse in Dubai
Serving up an amazing array of Turkish specialties, the newly opened Turkish Steak Restaurant sits in the heart of Jumeirah 1 just opposite to Mercato mall along the Jumeirah beach road. Since opening, the place has been renowned for serving some top quality steaks and mind blowing action.
With a dining area spread over two levels and a spacious outdoor terrace, where some fine culinary theatrics happen every evening, the place has become extremely popular among die hard steak lovers and shisha lovers.
We visited on a Thursday evening and spent over 4 hours there, enjoying some of the best of Turkish cuisine, piping hot cups of Turkish coffee and flavorful shisha. We couldn’t have wished to spend a long and cold Thursday evening anywhere else, but here.
Established by a young man who set up and managed some of the best known Turkish restaurants in the city, you can expect that his new concept would be every bit fabulous and perfect. And fabulous it definitely is – right from the food, the drinks, the hubbly bubbly, the service, the milieu and the theatrics that goes with it.
What we had
We started off with some really refreshing mocktails and a cold mix platter which included hummus, mutabbel, babaganus, muhammara, acili ezme and cacik. The cold mezze was authentic, fresh and delicious. We enjoyed this with hot Turkish bread.
In appetizers we also had Cig Kofte which was neatly presented with cherry tomatoes on a bed of parsley leaf. The red, green and brown colours complimented each other well making it an eye catching dish.
In hot starters we had Crispy fried calamari which were a pleasure to munch.
Main
In the mains we enjoyed Kuzu kafes steak complete with all its trimmings. The best part of the dining experience was that it was live cooked next to our table in full theatrical style. It was thrilling to see the fire leap up almost twice the height of the chef. With just plain sea salt to garnish, the steak was very delicious and authentic. We had it sizzling hot right from the fiery hot plates.
In mains we also enjoyed a mixed grill platter which came with lamb shish, chicken shish, kebab, lamb chops, tomato, pepper and special bread.
Desserts
In desserts, we had Bakalava with Turkish ice cream and Katmer. Both were delicious and gave a perfect end to the meal. It was fun to watch the Bakalava Ice cream dessert being made by our table.
Overall impression
Overall it was a wonderful evening and we thank the fabulous team at Turkish Steak restaurant including the supervisor Arjaan and proprietor Latif Kural for personally being there to welcome us and also take care of every detail. Post dinner we enjoyed the beautiful and balmy weather outside with some piping cups of Turkish tea and coffee and hubbly bubbly.
Verdict
Turkish Steak house is a fabulous restaurant offering lip smacking and authentic Turkish cuisine with awe inspiring levels of service. Fabulous team, fabulous manager, fabulous venue and great food all combine to make it that perfect new restaurant to try.
