Da Gama at Century Village, Dubai - Review
Named after the famous portugese explorer Vasco Da Gama, Da gama restaurant is surely one of the longest standing sentinels of Portuguese culinary finesse in this part of the world. Da gama has been around longer than several other Portuguese restaurants in Dubai and it offers a fantastic milieu, great selection of cocktails and lip-smacking selection of starters and Portuguese specialties.
We started off with some beer to set the tone for the afternoon indulgence in the breezy and pleasant outdoors. We were served with lip smacking Wasabi Prawns cocktail as amuse bouche. We then ordered a Tapas platter which included chicken skewers, panko fish, wasabi prawns, paprika calamari and nachos. Since we were four bloggers the dishes were sufficient for us. The starters were top notch and tantalizing enough to tempt us to race for the main course.
The main course didn't disappoint as well. In the main course we ordered Cataplana, Chicken Diane, Baked Fish and Espetada. Each of these dishes had a flavour and character of its own. Tasty and reasonable priced, this probably one of the best Portuguese restaurant on this side of town.
We were already full with our indulgence but how could be go without trying their desserts. In desserts we had the gorgeous looking blue berry cheese cake and sizzling brownie with ice cream. Both perfect to finish.
This place is highly recommended. They have great food, great service and reasonable cost. The milieu is just perfect for winter. I am surely going there again.
