A perfect Friday brunch at Fusion Restaurant at Ghaya Grand Hotel. IMPZ, Dubai
Last month a
few of us from the media were invited for a sea food dinner buffet at Fusion restaurant.
I remember how every single guest we spoke to, utterly enjoyed the delicious
and fresh sea food dished out from the live cooking stations that night. It was our first-time visiting Fusion
restaurant and the place definitely left a very good impression.
One month
later we decided to drop by again, this time for a relaxed Friday afternoon
brunch. Priced at AED 149, fusion’s Friday brunch is a total value for money
offering. The choices in terms of food
was pretty good and there were noodles stalls, mocktail kiosks, sushi counters,
salad bars, dessert stations, et al and above all great staff who were there to
take care of all our need at our tables.
We started
off with some spicy stir-fried noodles from the noodles counter. Diners could
choose between fish, beef or chicken or have it all in a mix. I had fish while
my dining partner chose chicken. The noodles was freshly made on our order and
reached us before 7 to 10 minutes.
While awaiting
that, we decided to take a stroll and check the other counters. Tempted by spaghetti
at the Italian live cooking station, we whipped out a few forkfuls. It tasted yummy.
By then we
had our stir-fried noodles on our tables. It was spicy, fresh and delicious. We
moved on to try some sushi. It was well prepared and tasted good. I personally
liked that California roll and smoked salmon cream cheese sushi. Others were
okay.
We then
moved on to try some salad in between. They had a very good mix of salads, cold
cuts, some cheese, dry fruits and nuts.
The
restaurant had quite a few good Indian options like Palak Paneer, Butter
Chicken, Vegetable pulao, Corn and Potato Tikki, Chicken Tikka Shole. They also
had some popular Asian dishes like Chicken Manchurian, Thai Prawns Curry, Vegetable
Spring Rolls etc.
The Dimsum station
had some lovely Dimsums, shumai and wantons. There was fresh lamb too.
Apart from
these, they had some nice tarts and cakes in desserts and an ice cream freezer
chest too where diners could freely scoop out how much ever ice cream they fancied.
Overall I think
it was a great buffet for AED 149. The only minus was that it is a dry hotel so
no alcohol available. In terms of fresh juices they don’t have very many
options available. They restaurant is relaxed, spacious, the counters all well
laid out so you can move around in ease. The staff are friendly and quick in
service and the team including the restaurant manager are very proactive and
always around to keep a watch out to replenish the food or take care of guest’s
requirements.
If you want
to have a relaxed weekend far away from the din and commotion of mainland
Dubai, then Fusion restaurants Friday brunch is a great option that doesn’t cost
a hole in the wallet.
