Authentically Italian - La Vigna Italian Restaurant Century Village, Dubai
La Vigna looks
straight out of a street in the Italian Countryside sporting a totally relaxed
and old school vibe with wooden furniture, traditional paintings and décor,
chequered table cloth and classic italian music playing in the backdrop.
The location itself is quite out of town in a sense and Century village is away from the maddening rush hour traffic and din. So in that sense a perfect place for a traditional and authentic Italian restaurant.
As we took our
seats we were served with garlic and focaccia bread – both of which were fresh
and hot. Followed that up with some delicious and slurpy creamy mushroom soup
which was a fine blend of mushroom and chicken morsels. Probably the second
best mushroom soup, ive tried in Dubai.
In cold
starters we were served with salmone affumicato – a smoked salmon dish with capers.
In hot starters we had bruchetta. Usually I am not a big fan of Bruchetta but I
gotta admit that this was one of the best Bruchetta I tasted. We also tried a
platter of mixed seafood, which was good.
In the main
course we ordered Risotto, Pasta and Pizza – all the three main signature items
that Italy is known globally for.
The risotto was
thick and came peppered with mushrooms, zucchini and cream. I must say that it
was quite filling. The pasta was of a different level all together. It was
loaded with cheese and customized to my liking as I am a big lover of cheese. It
was utter bliss. Finally a spicy Daviola Pizza made up for lack of spice in other
dishes. It was flavorful, crisp and good.
In truly
italian style, we finished off our meal with Tiramisu and cream carmellata.
This place is an absolute must visit if you love to enjoy authentic italian food in a totally authentic vibe.
