Beatbox Dubai – Burgers, Shakes, Beats & Good Vibes

If you ever end up in the Deira side of town and crave for some burger, here’s an interesting place to check out.  A music-themed Burger joint, Beatbox Cafe offers a lot more than just burgers. Situated near Baniyas Metro station along the busy Naif Street, Beatbox offers a delicious array of of subs, wraps, sliders, shakes and cold coffee. Relatively new, the cafe is already attracting a loyal (and hungry) bunch of burger-loving followers.

Ambiance
In the world of burgers there are a thousand different brands in the market place. A few giants like MCD's and Burger King stand out with their mega-marketing budgets. Some newcomers like Beatbox stand out with their brand personality, service and product offering.

The Beatbox branding is cool and catchy with striking yellow and black color. Because of this, the cafe stands out from the neighboring shops and hard to miss, if you are in that street.
The dining area is quite small inside, but they make up for it with additional seating arrangement outside.  The seats are pretty comfortable, which you'd least expect from a cafe of this size in this locale.

Both the interiors and exteriors reflects the brand's colors yellow and black. Right from the sofas and tables, to the tissue boxes, take-away bags, menu cards and employee uniform – the branding is pleasantly consistent.

Service

The service was impressive and the orders came in  quick succession ; at one point I had to literally tell them to pace it out.  Our server Shyam was a friendly and nice guy who served with a smile and kept us engaged in conversation- happily answering any question we had about the cafe or the food.  'Prompt and efficient service with a smile' is what Beatbox believes in and they are bloody right. To survive or even create a foothold in a market dominated by the Mc'Ds and Burger Kings of the business, their service better be good!

The Food
Beatbox has an fascinating line up of burgers and subs with intriguing names like Lambshank Redemption, Italian job, Mexican moon, Kangaroo Magic, Ridin’ Solo Burger, Salmon Dance, Eggspectation – the list just goes on. These are sided with spicy fries that you can wash down with milkshakes or fresh juices with equally interesting names.

As we were skimming through the menu, trying to figure out what to order, we were offered two welcome desserts – Strawberry and Mango cream. Both tasted fresh and delicious.

In addition to that we were also offered a cup of Chickoo cream after I mentioned to the server about my love for the exotic fruit.

What we ordered
I ordered Fisherman’s Pie. My dining partner went with the vegetarian Vagabond.

Fisherman’s Pie
At just AED 18 this crispy prawn’s burger is a killer. The prawns literally crunched in the mouth and the spice level was just perfect for our Indian palates.  This dish was sided with tasty French fries.

Vagabond
A simple veg burger with breaded vegetable patty, this was a simple but really nice burger. The patty was well fried and less spicy than the Fisherman’s pie, but the lack of spice was well compensated by the spicy chilly flake fries.

Hang KFC’s spicy fries! This is one of the best spicy fries we’ve tasted. The burgers were pretty filling all under AED 30 for two people. Where else in Dubai can you enjoy such good burgers at this price?!  We decided to wash down the spiciness with some sweet indulgence.

The Drinks

We went for Berryness and the super tall and fascinating Dark Night – the killer shake.
Both were good but perhaps a little too sweet to my liking particularly the Dark night. It might be a perfect treat for kids and those with a sweet tooth.

Dark Night Shake was filled with lots of surprises inside which revealed itself, with every single sip I took.

Our verdict
Naif may not be a location that you’d often visit, however if you live around Deira or drive past the area or if you even end up there by accident, Beatbox is definitely worth checking out.  It will not disappoint you. Their burgers and shakes are pretty good and the prices are rock bottom, too.
