The evening of entertainment started with a contest based around Hindi film and music. This served as a curtain raiser to the evening of fun and entertainment. As the music played in the backdrop, the General Manager of Bollywood Parks & Resorts, Thomas Jellum drove onto the stage in a jeep in truly epic Dabanng Style, which charged the audience and got them cheering and hooting.
Thomas Jellum introduced Bollywood parks and thanked everyone who played a vital role in making the four year dream a reality. The core leadership team behind the creation of Bollywood parks & Resorts were invited on stage and the announcement of the official launch was made amidst fireworks, foot tapping music and dance. The excited guests and media were welcomed to experience the facility soon after. Desi sweets were distributed to everyone as they entered the park.
True to its name Bollywood Parks is a complete Bollywood themed entertainment facility that features 16 rides spread over 5 zones in about 1.7 million square feet of land. The 5 zones are Mumbai Chowk, Bollywood Boulevard, Royal Plaza, Rustic Ravine and Bollywood Film Studios. The 16 rides feature attractions based on Bollywood blockbusters like Sholay, Dabangg, Ra.One, Krrish and Lagaan. Visitors can also enjoy a choice of 30 live shows that are inspired by contemporary and classic blockbusters, action movies like Dabangg and epic historical drama Mughal-E-Azam.
The key attractions of the theme park are:
Don: The Chase – A thrilling and immersive 3D media tunnel ride that takes visitors on an epic chase past iconic skyscrapers to catch the ever elusive Don
Lagaan: The Thrill of Victory – A motion simulator cricket game based on the superhit movie Lagaan that gives riders the best point of view of a moving cricket ball.
Lagaan: Champaner Cricket Carnival – A carnival milieu where visitors can experience the sights and sounds of an Indian village and also enjoy rides on a ferris wheel and the carousel.
Sholay: The Hunt for Gabbar Singh – A 3D interactive dark ride where visitors armed with laser guns can shoot the dacoits led by the terrifying villain Gabbar Singh from the hit movie Sholay.
Dabangg: Stunt Spectacular Show – Unbelievable action. The best one-liners. Bollywood songs and dance.
RA.One: Unleashed: A thrilling 4D multi-sensory virtual ride
Krrish: Hero’s Flight : 4D flying theatre ride offering panoramic views of India’s spectacular landmarks
Cinemagic featuring Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara : A behind-the-scenes Bollywood movie production & live stage show, based on the blockbuster Bollywood Movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”

Some of the rides like Krrish: Hero’s Flight are not yet operational.  Thomas Jellum, general manager of Bollywood Parks, promised that all rides would open in a few weeks time. By UAE national day atleast two new rides would be operational he said.
A walk around the park would not only revive fond memories of yesteryear Bollywood films but also India, as a whole. All the attractions at the theme park like the red double decker bus parked behind Mumbai Chowk, or the the iconic ‘friendship bike’ (similar to the one used in the Blockbuster movie “Sholay”) or even the Ramgarh station – a truly indian style railway station featuring a Lime juice kiosk – are things that Indian’s – the majority of residents in UAE, can relate to.
Apart from solid entertainment the park also offers some palette-tickling desi dining options for food lovers, right from street food kiosks to fine dining restaurants.
As Nidhi Aggarwal one of the visitors at the event put it “Bollywood parks is like a dream park for those who are big fans of Bollywood, like me. There are lots of surprises hidden for visitors and truly amazing rides too. For those who want to experience the true essence of Bollywood film industry in Dubai, Bollywood parks is a must visit.”
